Traditionally, Propolis is used as an antibiotic and a stimulant of the immune system, therefore reducing the occurrence and severity of colds and flue and very popular in the treatment of throat infections. Propolis from the beehive is known to increase resistance to infection and illnesses and is widely recognised as a preventative supplement.

Propolis has natural mild antibiotic and anti-fungal properties, probably due to its natural content of flavonoids organic acids, vitamins and numerous minerals. Propolis contains a high level of bioflavonoid; these stimulate white blood cells to produce Interferon, which greatly increases the body’s resistance to disease. Propolis also curtails the growth of Protozoa and is therefore an effective treatment for some intestinal parasites.

Propolis also contains strong antimicrobial properties. It possesses anesthetic properties and antioxidants being very helpful in a wide range of health conditions.
